This is three-piece dress, with one long flowing shirt type that covers the upper portion of the body called kameez, the trousers called salwar and the dupatta that is worn around the shoulders covering the front portion of the body.

The office goers and college students, who travel by bus or trains generally, find it as the most comfortable and convenient attire.

Salwar suits are available in all fabrics like cotton, polyester, silk, crepe, and so on. Salwar suit with chikan work is known as Chikan salwar suit.

Chikan work finds its origin from the time of Nawabs of Avadh, and is known as chikankari or fine work.
