A saree is beautiful attire to any woman, provided she is aware of the technique to tie it properly, irrespective of whether she wears it daily, occasionally or rarely.
The saree is considered as the sexiest attire for any woman. Even though it is draped all over the body, it reveals the feminine structure of her. A normal saree is either five and half or six meters long.
Depending upon the occasion, budget, and the existing fashion, a woman
invests on a sari.
Sarees with chikan work is one of the popular sarees
among homemakers, office-goers, and college students.
The chikan work is way back to the time of Nawabs of Avadh. Chikan sarees
displays a form of the embroidery work; however, this work uses heavy
thread for better quality, and is mostly done on the borders and/or on
the pallu. |
This work can be done on any sari, and looks particularly on plain sarees. Georgette sarees, Chiffon sarees, Crepe sarees, Khadi sarees, synthetic sarees, and so on can be beautified further by chikan work. You can get the thread in different colors, and is used according to the color and type of saree.
One can get a chikan saree with different patterns and designs like floral patterns with hand sewn buta embroidery, murri embroidery, geometrical patterns, and so on.
The border and the pallu on the chikan saree complement each other in designs. Chikan saree is expensive than normal saree because of the intricate designs done with hand, and the workmanship is simply wonderful and elegant. Nowadays, even a homemaker does the chikan work on her sarees.
The chikan sarees can be used as a party wear, and can be worn to weddings depending upon the work done on the saree.
The work on the sarees would suffer damages easily, and therefore,
should be taken care properly.
One should not use it roughly, and even
washing should be done using mild powders. Good care would give longevity
for the chikan sarees. |
