unstitched cloth processed into a saree through weaving by hand is called
hand woven saree. Its characteristics allow it to stretch in the specified
direction, unless the threads are elastic.
Woven cloth usually squirms
at the edges, and measures are taken to maintain them. Majority of the
sarees are hand woven.
These hand woven sarees have some of the qualities like soft
finish, unique stripes, cross designs with different combinations, nice
border, feel comfort due to modern and updated technology handlooms.
Nowadays, even the silk sarees are woven and make attractive ones among
other types.
These sarees are very costly due to elegant appearance and
lot of laborious work on them. These sarees should be pressed; otherwise
they lose their luster and look old in appearance. |

They are equal to silk sarees except that the designs are woven in different materials.
One should remember that these sarees should not be bleached with high power detergents, soap since it decreases the life of the cloth, so it has to be washed with mild detergents.
